Accomplishments

In the past two years, I have fought to be the voice of District 9 at City Hall. Fort Worth residents deserve a thriving city that listens and cares for all its citizens. I am proud to be a champion for Fort Worth families and neighborhoods. Since taking office, we have been able to:

Protected our most vulnerable

  • Secured $5M of ARPA for permanent supportive housing for our homeless population
  • Secured $2M in funding for 290 units of affordable housing in a working class neighborhood
  • Championed project that will created 140 units of permanent supportive housing and affordable units for families experiencing homelessness or are at risk/experienced domestic violence
  • Introduced a Boarding Home Ordinance that created a $3,000 fine and jail time for predatory landlords who take advantage of the elderly and disabled

Supported our First Responders

  • Worked with the Fort Worth Police Department to introduce an Open Container Ban for the W7th area
  • Fought to increase the number of H.O.P.E Officers to address homelessness and Crisis Intervention Officers to respond to residents experiencing a mental health crisis
  • Collaborated with City Staff to increase funding for additional Fort Worth Firefighters

Invested in Fort Worth’s Economic Growth

  • Collaborated with Texas A&M to create a new education complex to meet the economic development and workforce needs of Fort Worth
  • Extended one of Fort Worth most successful Tax increment Finance District, the Near Southside TIF
  • Helped drive millions of dollars into revitalization zones without using existing taxpayer dollars.
